i cannot sign in
fewer uses email + password. make sure your email and password match the account you created — passwords are case-sensitive.
if you've forgotten your password, use "forgot password" to get a reset link by email, then set a new one. if it still fails, email support with the email address you used to sign up.
i did not receive the password-reset email
Check spam, promotions, and any private-relay inbox if you use Apple email privacy features. Wait a minute, then request a new reset link.
If nothing arrives, email support and include the address you tried.
Smart Add got the item wrong
Edit it before you save. Every AI-suggested field is editable.
Smart Add is optional. Manual entry, categories, locations, spaces, sharing, search, and export do not depend on AI.
i hit the free AI limit
The free tier includes 5 Smart Add AI scans per calendar month. Manual entry is unlimited.
fewer Plus removes the AI scan cap for $3.99/month or $29.99/year.
i need to restore my purchase
Open fewer, go to Settings, then tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed into the same Apple ID that bought the subscription.

common fixes
the app opens but my inventory is empty
Confirm you are signed into the same email address you used before. fewer inventories are tied to accounts and spaces.
If you belong to more than one space, check the space switcher. Private items only appear for the account that created them.
i cannot see an item someone else added
The item may be private. Shared-space members only see items marked shared. The person who created the item can edit visibility.
photos are not loading
Check your connection and reopen the item. Photos are stored privately and loaded through expiring signed links, so an old screen may need to refresh.
If this keeps happening, email support with the item name and approximate time.
AI scans fail or time out
Try once more. If it still fails, save the item manually.
Manual entry is always available and does not use your AI quota. If an AI request fails before returning a result, fewer should not burn a free-tier scan.
voice entry does not work
Make sure microphone and speech-recognition permissions are enabled for fewer in iOS Settings.
If you prefer not to use voice, manual entry gives you the same final item fields.
OCR or receipt scanning does not work
Make sure camera and photo-library permissions are enabled. OCR works best with flat, well-lit text.
Receipt and warranty data are review-only in v1.0. Full receipt and warranty tracking arrives in a later update.

cancel a subscription
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your Apple ID, tap Subscriptions, choose fewer, then tap Cancel Subscription.

Apple handles App Store refunds. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
privacy and data
Smart Add and photos
Smart Add is optional. When you tap the AI affordance, fewer sends the selected photo to Google's Gemini API for item recognition. The photo is not used to train models, and we do not opt into model-training data collection.
You can turn AI off in Settings → AI Suggestions. Manual entry never sends photos to Gemini.
delete your account
You can permanently delete your account and inventory from Settings → Delete Account in the app, or by emailing [email protected] from the email address tied to your account.
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. There is no grace period or recovery window.
What gets deleted:
- your account — email address, user ID, and profile
- every space you own, and everything in it: items, photos, locations, categories, and pending invitations. Co-members lose access; if someone else needs to keep using a shared space, transfer ownership first.
- in spaces owned by other people: items you added that were marked private are deleted; items you added that were marked shared stay with the space (your authorship is removed)
- all photos tied to items that are deleted
What we cannot delete for you:
- purchase and subscription records held by Apple, Google Play, and our billing provider (RevenueCat) — these are retained for as long as their billing, tax, and compliance obligations require. We do not keep copies on our side.
Account deletion does not cancel your subscription. Cancel separately:
- iOS — open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → fewer → Cancel.
- Android — open the Google Play Store app → menu → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → fewer → Cancel.
If you want a copy of your data first, use Settings → Export inventory (CSV) before deleting. Full details are in the privacy policy.
delete some of your data without deleting your account
To remove a single item (and its photos), open the item in fewer and tap Delete.
For off-device requests — for example, if you can't access the app — email [email protected] from the email address tied to your account and tell us what to delete.
export data
You can export your inventory to CSV from Settings. Export before deleting your account if you want a copy.
App Review testers
If you need help testing fewer, email [email protected] and include "App Review" in the subject.
The AI features are optional. To reach the paywall, use Smart Add until the free monthly quota is exhausted. Manual entry remains unlimited.
